Artur Avakyan
Greetings and welcome to my website! My name is Artur and I am astrophysicist, working in High Energy Astrophysics (HEA) area. Currently, I am a 3rd year Doctoral researcher from Universität Tübingen working with Dr. Victor Doroshenko and Prof. Dr. Andrea Santangelo.
I focus on identification and characterization of population of the Galactic X-ray binaries (XRBs). This includes tight work with facilities such as eROSITA, XMM-Newton, NuSTAR, etc. I am interested in the application of machine learning (ML) methods in analysis of multi-wavelength (MWL) data, mainly in terms of sources identification, surveys cross-matching, and origin type classification.
Together with Marvin Neumann (Doctoral researcher, Universität Tübingen) I also worked on construction of the two up-to-date catalogues of XRBs in the Galaxy, which you can access through dedicated website (XRBcats: Galactic XRB Catalogues). I strongly recommend to check it out=)
Some of the ongoing works:
- eROSITA_DE first Data Release (DR1)
- XRBs in eROSITA DR1: identification and classification
- X-ray luminosity function of XRBs: construction and modelling
- XMM-Newton follow-up observation of XRB candidates found in eROSITA and archive data
- Search for a postdoctoral position=)
